By using VA Claim Assistant (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Informational and Educational Purposes Only
The Site provides general information and educational guidance to help veterans understand the VA disability claims process. It does not provide legal, medical, or psychological advice, and using the Site does not create an attorney-client, agent-client, or representative-client relationship. For advice or representation on your specific situation, consult a qualified attorney, physician, or a VA-accredited representative or Veterans Service Officer (VSO).
2. No Affiliation with the VA
The Site is an independent resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or any government agency.
3. We Are Not Your Representative
The Site does not prepare, complete, sign, file, submit, present, or prosecute any claim, application, or appeal on your behalf, and it is not a VA-accredited representative, claims agent, or attorney. Under federal law (38 U.S.C. §§ 5901–5905 and 38 CFR Part 14), only VA-accredited individuals and organizations may represent claimants before the VA. To obtain representation — which is available to you free of charge through Veterans Service Organizations — use a VA-accredited representative.
4. No Fees
The Site is provided free of charge. We never charge any fee for information or assistance related to a VA benefits claim. Any donations are voluntary gifts in support of our mission and are not payment for assistance on any specific claim.
5. Uploads and Use of the Service
Files and information you submit to the AI assistant are processed during your active session and are not stored by us after your session ends. Please redact sensitive personal information before uploading. By uploading documents, you acknowledge that you do so at your own discretion. See our Privacy Policy for details on how data is handled.
6. AI-Generated Content; No Guarantee of Results
Responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may be incomplete or inaccurate. We do not guarantee any outcome regarding your disability claim. Always verify important information with a VA-accredited representative or directly with the VA at va.gov.
7. Limitation of Liability
Use of the Site is at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, VA Claim Assistant and its owners, operators, and volunteers are not liable for any losses or damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its content.
8. Intellectual Property
Content on the Site is owned by or licensed to VA Claim Assistant and is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. Official VA forms and government materials are the property of their respective agencies.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will be posted on this page with its effective date. Your continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Connecticut.
